Ch. 70 DESE Funding Public Listening Sessions

ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION:
“The Legislature has directed the
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the state Department of
Revenue’s Division of Local Services to conduct a study and review of the local
contribution components of the Chapter 70 school aid formula.

We welcome your attendance at a hearing
or your comments and suggestions relating to these topics and questions.
Please feel free to submit testimony
electronically to C70PublicComment@mass.gov.
We are also scheduling five public
comment sessions (four in-person and one virtual) to take comments from
municipal officials and members of the public.

We may not be able to accommodate
everyone who wishes to speak at the public comment sessions, so we encourage
you to coordinate with your legislative colleagues to offer joint testimony in
lieu of a large number of people testifying individually.
