This past Sunday I had the pleasure to present a Senate
Resolution with Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante to Gloucester’s St. John’s
Church to commemorate its 150th
Following its founding, St. John’s Church became
a focal point in the City of Gloucester, and it has always been a great partner
in the community.
Not only does St. John’s Church provide spiritual guidance,
but it tirelessly assists and aids others in need.
Some of the ways the church supports the community,
Collecting food donations every week to benefit
The Open Door Food Pantry;
Operating a thrift shop that also provides goods
to those in need;
Providing sandwiches to the homeless through the
Action Shelter, Inc.; and
Assisting those with the desire to move out of
poverty and into a sustainable life through the Grace Center.
The services provided by St. John’s Church wouldn’t be a
reality if not for the guidance of Reverend Bret Hays, and the support of the
members of the church.
has been tremendous over the years.

Bret Hays, City Councilor Paul McGreary, Kim Prentice, supporters of St. John’s
Church, and myself.
