I was honored to join colleagues, service members, and guests at the Massachusetts State House for the recent dedication of a powerful new Coast Guard memorial painting—recognizing the Commonwealth as the birthplace of the United States Coast Guard 🇺🇸⚓️

Created by acclaimed marine artist Russ Kramer and generously donated by the State House Coast Guard Memorial Committee, this remarkable piece captures the origins and enduring legacy of the Coast Guard here in Massachusetts.

The ceremony brought together Coast Guard leadership, retirees, and state officials for a meaningful tribute to those who have served. In a truly special moment, the Commandant surprised the artist with the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Award and Medal in recognition of his extraordinary work and dedication.
