Green Crab Summit — hosted in collaboration with the Green Crab Task Force,
Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, Essex Tech and The Governor's Academy.
The European Green Crab (Carcinus maenas) is one of the
world’s most destructive invasive species, threatening New England’s coastal
ecosystems and shellfish industries. Despite decades of research and control
efforts, its growing population continues to impact marine habitats and
livelihoods across our region.
This summit will bring together scientists, policymakers,
educators, and community leaders to:
