Last week, I had the privilege of celebrating Hamilton resident Leon Purington’s 100th birthday at the Wenham Council on Aging joined by my colleague Kristin Kassner State Representative 2nd Essex District.
Leon has spent his entire life on the North Shore, growing up in Rowley and later living in Ipswich and Hamilton. Throughout the decades, he has dedicated himself to community service — serving on the Ipswich School Board, helping lead Kiwanis and Rotary, serving three terms on the Hamilton Select Board, and serving on the Hamilton Housing Authority since 1994.
One hundred years is an incredible milestone, and Leon’s lifetime of service is an inspiration. Wishing him continued health and happiness!
