BATTLE OF GLOUCESTER RE-ENACTMENT 2026
BATTLE OF GLOUCESTER RE-ENACTMENT 2026
This Thursday, I’m throwing it way back — 251 years to 1775, when the Battle of Gloucester brought the American Revolution right to our shores.
Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to step back in time at Stage Fort Park and fight alongside the Patriots during the Battle of Gloucester reenactment. More than 200 reenactors and living historians helped bring this important chapter of Gloucester’s history to life, with maritime and land battles, period encampments, and demonstrations of what life was like in colonial New England.
With more than 4,000 people coming out to experience the weekend, it was incredible to see so many people — from Gloucester and beyond — engaging with our local history.
As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, events like this remind us that the story of the Revolution wasn’t just written in distant places. It happened right here in Gloucester, where our own townspeople answered the call to defend their community and their country.
It was a great weekend celebrating Gloucester’s history and the spirit of those who helped shape our nation and I am grateful to every volunteer who helped make this event a success. 🇺🇸
