Today is a great day to celebrate the special role dogs play in our community — including as some of our youngest readers’ biggest supporters!
This fall, the Rowley Public Library is bringing back its popular “Read to a Dog” program, featuring therapy dogs Asia and Ella and their handlers, Candace and Barb.
Beginning in September, children and teens ages 4–18 can practice reading aloud in a fun, relaxed and completely nonjudgmental environment.
Sometimes the best reading buddy is one who will never interrupt, correct a mistake or rush you — and who is always happy to listen and accept a head scratch! 🐶❤️
The program takes place on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 4–5 p.m. in the library’s Large Meeting Room. Sessions are free, but advance registration is required for individual reading time.
