"Cape Ann Receives Tens of Thousands to Put Toward Local Efforts In State-wide Budget"

"Cape Ann’s state legislative delegation secured tens of thousands of dollars to help support area projects as part of the commonwealth’s recently passed fiscal year 2027 budget."

AND

"Impacting all of Cape Ann and other North Shore communities is $75,000 set aside for The Open Door’s Cape Ann Food Pantry to develop a transportation system that will allow it to deliver food directly to people in the communities it serves."

AND

"Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester and 5th Essex District Rep. Dru Tarr, D-Gloucester secured $20,000 for the planning and design of the O’Maley Innovation Middle School Courtyard Project."

AND

"The Gloucester Fire Department has been allocated $40,000 to purchase an emergency response all-terrain vehicle.

And $175,000 was earmarked for the UMass Amherst Gloucester Marine Station to support marsh restoration and revitalization activities.

The money will allow the station to further work in the Great Marsh, the largest contiguous salt marsh in New England that stretches from Gloucester to the New Hampshire border. Work will include green crab trapping research, high-resolution drone mapping, micro plastic and macro plastic monitoring and more."
