'Gov. Healey announces $300K for shellfishers sidelined by sewage spill'

"Gov. Maura Healey has announced that the state will provide $300,000 in economic relief to North Shore shellfish harvesters and oyster growers affected by the 12-day emergency closure of shellfish beds following the Merrimack River sewage spill.
The funding is intended to compensate commercial harvesters who were unable to work during the closure, which followed an unprecedented discharge of untreated sewage into the Merrimack River after a sewer line failure in Haverhill."

"Sen. Bruce Tarr and Rep. Kristin Kassner thanked the Healey administration for the partnership and collaboration.
“This relief, coming swiftly in the wake of the closures, is incredibly important for clammers whose forks have been idle and whose bills haven’t stopped,” Tarr said."
