Today, on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we pause to remember one of the most consequential moments in our nation's history and the extraordinary courage of those who helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today.
On June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy in the largest seaborne invasion ever undertaken, beginning the liberation of Europe from tyranny. The bravery, determination, and sacrifice demonstrated that day changed the course of history.
As we honor the service members who stormed the beaches of Normandy, we also remember those who never returned home and the families who bore the burden of their sacrifice.
The heroes of D-Day answered the call at a defining moment in history. We honor their service, remember their sacrifice, and remain forever grateful for the freedoms they helped secure.
