'ICE detains man who allegedly drunkenly crashed into trooper going wrong way'

"Since Trainor’s death, the state Senate has taken up an amendment to try to reduce the wrong-way collisions. The legislation, sponsored by Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, would improve signage and create an alert system for drivers when vehicles are traveling in the wrong direction.

“In Sunday’s incident, members of the Massachusetts State Police responded quickly and effectively, but not without injury to one of the responding troopers,” Tarr said in a statement. “While we pray for the speedy recovery of that trooper, we need to do everything possible to reduce the odds of anyone traveling our roadways from facing that threat again, and we know there are indeed many such things we can do.”"
