'Juneteenth recognized in Newburyport, Amesbury'

"In his opening speech, Mayor Sean Reardon called Juneteenth a “day of resilience, family, culture, achievement and joy” and a reminder that even in the face of adversity, people can overcome tremendous obstacles and create lasting change.
“That spirit continues to inspire us today,” he said.
Among those who attended were state Rep. Dawne Shand, D-Newburyport; her Democratic opponent for her First Essex seat, Stephen Roth of Salisbury; Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester; along with Newburyport City Councilors Brian Callahan, Heather Shand, Afroz Khan and Ben Harman."
