It was an honor to join Fire Chief Paul Parisi, Representative Kristin Kassner, local officials, residents, and members of the Ipswich Fire Department to recognize the extraordinary legacy of Ipswich's call firefighters.
For more than 200 years, generations of dedicated volunteers answered the call at all hours, in all conditions, helping to keep their neighbors safe and strengthening the fabric of the community through their selfless service.
I was proud to present citations in recognition of their commitment and sacrifice, and to thank all those who served as call and volunteer firefighters in Ipswich. Their willingness to step forward in service to others represents the very best of community spirit and civic responsibility.
Congratulations as well to former call firefighters Christopher Gregory and Bob Bowen on 40 years of service, and Deke Clapp and David Smith on 35 years of service!
