Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day and #WearOrangeDay, a time to honor the lives lost to gun violence, support survivors and their families, and raise awareness about the impact gun violence has on communities across our nation.
The color orange, worn by hunters in the woods to protect themselves and others, has been chosen as a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of gun violence.
As we observe this day, may we remember the victims, support those whose lives have been forever changed, and continue working together to promote awareness, prevention, and public safety.
