June marks National Safety Month, a nationwide effort led by the National Safety Council to promote safety from the workplace to anyplace. In its 30th year since launching in 1996, this initiative continues to provide valuable resources aimed at preventing injuries and saving lives.

Each week in June highlights an important safety topic, and this week's focus is on “Staying Safe on the Road.” As part of this effort, I will be highlighting ongoing work and legislative initiatives aimed at preventing future tragedies, including efforts to reduce fatalities caused by wrong way driving.

National Safety Month is a reminder that safety is not just a policy goal—it is a shared responsibility we all carry to protect our families, neighbors, and communities and that simple actions can make a life-saving difference for families and communities across the Commonwealth and beyond.
