📢 ATTENTION: SALISBURY BEACH & SANDY POINT STATE RESERVATIONS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE 📢
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has issued a recreational advisory for Salisbury Beach State Reservation and Sandy Point State Reservation due to a sewer issue affecting the Merrimack River.
Out of an abundance of caution, both locations are closed until further notice, and swimming is not advised because of the potential for bacteria associated with an accidental wastewater release.
DCR will continue regular water quality testing and will reopen these areas when it is safe to do so.
If you were planning to visit either beach, please make alternate plans and continue to monitor live updates at the following locations online ⬇️
