Celebrating with the Mother of Grace Club

On Sunday, September 7^th, I had the honor to once again join with the members of Gloucester’s Mother of Grace Club for their annual fiesta.  This year’s celebration marks 70 years since the club was first formed.  In 1944, a group of mothers and other family members created the club to engage in group prayers for the safe return of their sons while serving overseas during World War II.

This wonderful tradition is just one of the many fascinating and time honored traditions Gloucester has to offer.  Posted below are a few photos I was able to capture during last Sunday’s fiesta.

 

 

Supporting the Mother of Grace Club

Once again this year I was pleased to join with the members of Gloucester’s Mother of Grace Club for their annual Fiesta, which culminates a traditional prayer novena that dates back to the early 1940’s. A group of mothers and other family members created the club to facilitate prayers for the safe return of those defending our nation overseas in World War II.

The club and its events are a great tradition that adds strength and character to our community.
