Happy Labor Day!
Today, on Labor Day, we recognize not only the unofficial
close of summer, but also the countless contributions of America’s workforce to
our nation, our economy, and our quality of life.
It is a day to gather with family and friends, to reflect on
the moments of summer, and most importantly, to honor the dedication,
sacrifice, and persistence of the American worker—a spirit that has always been
central to our strength and prosperity as a nation.
Let us also take time to thank and remember the men and
women of our armed services, and their families, who continue to serve our
nation with commitment and courage on this day and every day.
