Award Winning Water





Last month, as part of National Drinking Water Week, The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, New England Water Works Association, and the Massachusetts Water Works Association presented Public Water System awards to four towns in Essex County.

Wenham’s Water Superintendent Erik Mansfield and Water Operator Randie Reader were presented with awards for their excellence in public service.

Gloucester’s Public Utility Division was presented with the STAR L Award for their efforts in improving water quality and safety.

Ipswich’s Water Treatment Superintendent Joe Ciccotelli was presented with the Distinguished Water Operator Award for his exemplary leadership and dedication to water infrastructure development.

The West Newbury Water Department was presented with an award in the Small Community Systems category and was described to have zero violations, tremendous service, and supported overall public water supply.

Congratulations to the Wenham, Gloucester, Ipswich and West Newbury Water Departments for your accomplishments and thank you for your dedication to water safety and supply!
