A Gallery in the Halls: Showcasing Local Artistic Excellence at The State House
Last week, I had the distinct privilege of honoring four outstanding artists from our district during a closing reception at the Massachusetts State House, where their work was recently featured in a special installation I was proud to host.
The works—created by Nancy LeGendre, Patricia McCarthy, Heidi Caswell Zander, and Dale Sherman Blodget—were displayed in the hallway outside the Senate Chamber and showcased the talent and creative spirit of the Creative Community Group, a collective dedicated to fostering artistic opportunities across Cape Ann, the North Shore, and the Commonwealth.
As a member of the Senate Art Committee, I am committed to bringing forward imagery that reflects the rich culture and diverse contributions of the communities I represent.
While the installation has now concluded, I remain deeply appreciative of the opportunity to share these remarkable works with colleagues and visitors, and to highlight the powerful role art plays in connecting us to one another and to the places we call home.
