4/15 Wellbeing and Safety Community Forum and More

This past Tuesday, April 15th, Gloucester families, students, and community members gathered at O’Maley Middle School in the Library for a Community Forum focused on the wellbeing and safety of our youth.

I was glad to be there to hear the scope of concerns and it was encouraging to see such a strong turnout of community members seeking positive solutions.
Mayor Verga and representatives from the YMCA, Gloucester Public Schools, Police Department, Department of Health, and local businesses joined the conversation to:
• Hear community concerns about adolescent behavior
• Share efforts currently underway in schools and across the city
• Collaborate on solutions to support our young people
Thank you to everyone who showed up and spoke up. This is how we build stronger, safer communities—by working together.

As a follow-up to this meeting, I encourage you to attend another upcoming Family Forum on Monday, May 5th from 6 - 7:30 PM for continuing discussions on youth safety.
