'Senate unveils $63.3B budget proposal'

"Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr said he welcomes the increased funding for communities and public schools but pointed out “they are not the only ones suffering financial distress” and urged fellow senators to consider “those who must pay the bills for government spending.”
“The progressively increasing prices of residing in our state, including those driven by state spending and taxation, are forcing people to leave and struggle to balance household budgets,” the Gloucester Republican said in a statement from the GOP caucus.
“While this budget proposal does make some important strides with regard to prioritizing spending, needed measures to control the costs of such things as energy, health care, and taxes, including local property taxes, are not immediately apparent in its pages,” Tarr said."
