Congratulations to Peter Boynton on receiving the 2026 Lifetime Preservation Award from the North Andover Historical Society!
A North Andover native and 1975 graduate of North Andover High School, Peter has devoted years of service to his hometown following his career as a U.S. Coast Guard officer. His contributions have included 12 years on the Town Planning Board and 10 years as town harbormaster, along with extensive work to preserve North Andover’s historic character, natural resources, and Lake Cochichewick.
From helping lead preservation initiatives and improvements at the Lake Cochichewick North Boat Launch to organizing Lake Cleanup Day, establishing public boat racks, and advocating for the protection of the town’s drinking water supply, Peter’s commitment to North Andover is reflected in so many aspects of the community.
It was a pleasure to join the North Andover Historical Society in celebrating Peter and recognizing his many years of public service and volunteer leadership by presenting him with an official Senate citation to mark this momentous occasion.
