It was an honor to join the The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport for the 17th Annual Field of Honor held at Bartlet Mall in Newburyport and share remarks during this year’s ceremony.
The Field of Honor brings together hundreds of American flags to recognize veterans, active-duty members of the military, first responders, and personal heroes who have made a difference in the lives of others. This year, 250 flags were displayed in recognition of our nation’s 250th anniversary.
I was especially pleased to hear from students from Newburyport High School, who reflected on the people, experiences, and ideals that make them proud to be Americans.
Thank you to the Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport, Stuart Deane, the student speakers, local and state officials, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this meaningful annual tradition possible.
The Field of Honor provides an important opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance and recognition of those who serve and those who have made a difference in our lives.
