Please join me in congratulating Gloucester’s Maiuza Alves on being named a 2026 Latino Excellence Award recipient by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.
Rep. Dru Tarr nominated Maiuza for this recognition in honor of her years of leadership, advocacy, and service to Gloucester’s Brazilian and Latino communities.
Our Communications Director Jessica Margiotta presented Maiuza with an official Massachusetts Senate citation recognizing this well-deserved honor on my behalf.
Maiuza has been a trusted resource and advocate for residents, helping strengthen connections between Gloucester’s Brazilian and Latino communities and local, state, and federal government. Through her work with the Gloucester Human Rights Commission, Gloucester Education Foundation, Action Inc., and many other community efforts, she continues to make a meaningful difference across Cape Ann.
Please join me in congratulating Maiuza and thanking her for all she does for our community!
