'Never forgotten: Pink House site commemorated with sign'

"Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester, who spent considerable time and effort trying to save the house, spoke about what it represented to the community.
“The Pink House was not only an iconic building that inspired countless paintings, photographs, and other works of art, it also catalyzed a true grassroots movement that brought together people from near and far to speak with powerful voices about the importance of preserving community history, being mindful of our environment and its stewardship, and coming together around things we care about,” Tarr said.
He said that while the structure has been lost, the values it highlighted remain.
“This sign memorializes a physical connection between that structure and all that it continues to represent in our lives and our future,” Tarr said. “I am grateful to all who have been responsible for building and installing it.”"
