As the Coastal Caucus Senate Chair, I was honored to share Closing Remarks for Oceans Day Lobby Day recently at the Swedenborgian Church Hall in Boston.
Oceans Day offers an important opportunity to reflect on the central role our ocean environment plays in the life of the Commonwealth—economically, environmentally, and culturally.
It is also a chance to recognize the progress we have made to strengthen and protect our coastal resources, while recommitting ourselves to the work still ahead.
This day is about both reflection and responsibility: celebrating what has been accomplished, and working together to chart a course forward that continues to protect our ocean environment for generations to come.
Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Oceans Day advocacy efforts.
