The UMass Amherst Marine Station is a unique and remarkable
resource that deserves this type of major investment and support.
Over the years it has provided invaluable assistance to the
commercial fishing industry, and can continue to do so in the future.
Now, however, it is poised to do so much more as it
continues to evolve into a multi-faceted center playing a transformational role
in sustainability, efforts to address climate change, and economic development.
The station is experiencing a Renaissance, and one that will
have countless benefits.
