SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS OF VETERANS

Thankful for the support of my colleagues in the State Senate for their unanimous support of my amendment, Mental Health Services For Veterans, in our Mental Health Parity bill debate. Sadly, the National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report reports that 6,261 Veterans died by suicide in 2019 (most recent data) 17.2 Veterans per day. The loss of one veteran to suicide is too many.

The amendment would help ensure that the mental health needs of veterans are properly considered and properly addressed.
