Gloucester Fire Department - New Gear And A New Firefighter

This morning was a particularly good start to the day as I got to help the Gloucester Fire Department unbox new extrication gear that I was able to help secure in a recent budgeting bill. And in addition, I got to extend a Senate Citation to Gloucester Firefighter Samantha Rose to recognize her accomplishment in graduating from the Massachusetts Fire Academy in Stow.

Chief Eric Smith, the Gloucester Fire Department, and the #Gloucester community will be well-served with this equipment. I know that they are pleased to have Samantha on staff as she was trained in all facets of firefighting including; life safety protocols, search and rescue operations, ladder and water supply deployment, pump operation, fire attack response, and live firefighting. She was among only 23 recruits who graduated and was presented with her certification by her sister, Alexandra Pizzimenti, a firefighter/paramedic for the Reading Fire Department.
