March is Women’s History Month

All around the world people are taking the time to recognize the contributions that women have made throughout history. In the Senate President's office there is a thoughtful display of dozens of Massachusetts women, past and present, whose work, advocacy and contributions have changed lives. First Lady Abigail Adams, abolitionist Lucy Stone, the Lowell Mill Girls, Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, author Louisa May Alcott, and many more have been featured.

This year's theme is “Valiant Women of the Vote” which honors the women who organized the original suffrage movement.
