"“The Hero of the Year Award represents true
partnership, what I strive for every day of my public life,” Tarr said during
the event.
Former state Sen. Steven Baddour was in attendance to not
only celebrate Tarr, but also to provide a detailed account of the legislation
his former colleague originally sponsored that created the Salisbury Beach
Preservation Fund.
“During my tenure as state senator, our legislative
delegation cared passionately about the beach, but we also had someone who was
consistently there, always working with us to make legislation protecting
Salisbury Beach stronger and better, making the arguments, whether it was to a
Democrat or Republican governor – and that was Bruce Tarr,” Baddour said."
