Newburyport- Amesbury Football Game Luncheon

Since their first unsanctioned game in 1891,  the high school football teams of Newburyport and Amesbury have been playing a Thanksgiving game, with 99 official games being recorded.

An important part of this legendary rivalry these days is a pre - Thanksgiving luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of the city hosting the game. This year the luncheon was hosted in Newburyport,  and I was honored to participate in a great event that emphasized sportsmanship and friendly competition and featured spirited remarks by Mayors Reardon and Gove, and some very creative contests involving food.

Thanks to the Mayors, the football teams and cheerleaders, the coaches, and the Rotary Club for a great event!
