Tonight at 6:00pm House Minority Leader Brad Jones and I will be featured guests on NECN’s “Broadside” with host Jim Braude.  We will be discussing the technology tax that the legislature implemented in late July, and our latest efforts to repeal it.

On Wednesday evening the members of the Senate Republican Caucus were guests on NECN’s “Broadside” with special guest host Joe Battenfeld.  We discussed with Joe the recent departure of State Senator Michael Knapik and what that means for the minority party in the Senate and Massachusetts.  To watch Wednesday’s segment please play the first posted video below.

Additionally, during today’s Fox 25 Morning News, Co-Anchor Gene Lavanchy and I discussed the meetings currently being held in the City of Boston this week by the Republican National Committee, and the direction Massachusetts needs to take to create more balance within state government.

Please tune in to “Broadside” tonight on New England Cable News (NECN), where I’ll be discussing with host Jim Braude and former state senator and political analyst Warren Tolman the release of a state auditor’s report on our welfare system, a commercial fisheries lawsuit filed by Attorney General Coakley, and the latest on the Boston Marathon bombings investigation.  “Broadside” airs at 6:00pm and re-airs again at 3:30am.

Also at 6:00pm I will be featured on NECN’s Broadside with Jim Braude.  Jim and I further discussed the U.S. Senate seat and the decisions a candidate has to make prior to entering such a race.

Fox 25’s Evening News will air again at 10:00pm and 11:00pm, and Broadside will re-air at 8:00pm and again at 3:30am.

Today New England Cable News (NECN) Reporter Allison King stopped by my office to interview me regarding Governor Patrick’s FY’14 budget proposal, which includes increases in taxes, fees, tolls, and other charges to finance his education plan, future transportation expansions, and other state spending initiatives.

Earlier today I was interviewed by NECN Reporter Allison King regarding Governor Patrick’s latest announcement in calling for an increase in educational spending over the next several years. His plan could require as much as $1.57 billion in new revenue next year.

I will be appearing on tonight's episode of "Broadside" on New England Cable News,where I will join State Senator Brian Joyce (D-Milford) and host Jim Braude for a discussion of some of the top political stories of the week, including the inauguration of new US Senator Elizabeth Warren; the upcoming special election to fill US Senator John Kerry's seat; the fallout from the fiscal cliff deal in Washington; and a look at the 2013-2014 legislative agenda on Beacon Hill, including the debate over the state's transportation funding needs.

On Wednesday evening I had the opportunity to be a guest on NECN’s “Broadside” with host Jim Braude. I discussed with Jim and Attorney Edward Ryan the latest decision by a U.S. District Court that ruled in favor of convicted murderer Michelle Kosilek requiring the Department of Corrections to provide gender-reassignment surgery. Additionally, during yesterday’s Fox 25 Morning News, Anchor Shannon Mulaire and I discussed the issue further, and why the Department of Corrections needs to file an appeal to the decision. The video for yesterday’s segment is also posted below.

One the Air with NECN

On Sunday I was interviewed by NECN Reporter John Moroney at the State Fish Pier in Gloucester, MA about the early forecasts suggesting that there will be deep cuts to the groundfish fishing quotas for next year. This is extremely troubling, especially for the City of Gloucester, which has already lost a significant number of boats to its groundfishing fleet.

Working to Save Plum Island

With heavy rainfall from this past month, Plum Island has now been declared a state of emergency due to extreme sand erosion. At this very moment four houses are in jeopardy of collapsing into the ocean. Since this morning, I have been on the island working with local, state and federal officials to address this dire issue.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be a guest political analyst on Fox 25’s morning news segment “Tolman and Gray”. Boston City Councilor Michael Ross and I discussed the GOP presidential primary race and the Hard Rock Café International Group’s interest in operating a casino in western Massachusetts.

Later in the day I also made a guest appearance on NECN’s “Broadside” where I discussed with Representative Straus and host Jim Braude the status of the expanded gaming legislation.

Yesterday’s Media Appearances

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be a guest political analyst on Fox 25’s morning news segment “Tolman and Gray”. Former state senator Warren Tolman and I discussed the instability of the stock market and the possible effects it might have on the U.S. economy. We also discussed the need to strengthen the habitual traffic offender law.

Later in the day I also made a guest appearance on NECN’s “Broadside” where I was interviewed by special guest host Chet Curtis. Chet and I focused our discussion on the need to remove habitual traffic offenders from our streets, the current Massachusetts’ habitual traffic offender law and the necessity to strengthen it now.
