Sumner Tunnel Centennial - Massachusetts Department of Transportation Tobin Bridge/Chelsea Curves Rehabilitation Project Update

What is happening?

The Sumner Tunnel, between East Boston and the North End, will be undergoing a full restoration beginning in 2022. The purpose of these upcoming meetings is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. How will this affect you?

The Sumner Tunnel Centennial Project will create significant impacts to the community and commuters during construction. During the meetings, MassDOT will review the construction activities and schedule, tunnel closures, traffic detours, and community impacts. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments.
