"Tarr said the audit is a step in the right direction in terms of keeping the intersection safe.
“Safety concerns about this intersection have been steadily increasing, and the Board of Selectmen amplified them in a recent, urgent request for attention. We have been able to respond to that request with collaboration to secure a road safety audit that will put us on a path to meaningful and effective measures to make this intersection safe and efficient,” he said.
Tarr also said the audit will take a “multitude of components” into account when determining the best way to move forward.
“My goal is to have some concrete recommendations that we can then take action on as quickly as possible. But, the main goal of the roadway safety audit is to look at all of the options and distill those into the best options for cost effectiveness, for public safety, for maintaining the character of the roadway and the character of the neighborhood. So, with all of those factors in mind, my hope and my goal is that we’re going to get one or more recommendations that then we can take action,” he said."
