Honoring Ramadan
Eid mubarak!
As Ramadan comes to a close, I am reflecting on last week
when I joined local Muslims and friends at their 7th annual Iftar event
organized by the Human Rights Commission held at the Newburyport High School.
Together we broke fast with Mayor Sean Reardon, State
Representative Dawne Shand, Mayor Kassandra Gove of Amesbury, Jean Costello,
Vice-chair of the Human Rights Commission Board, and other local officials and
community members as a panel of speakers shared Muslim traditions within
Ramadan.
