Honored by Animal Legal Defense Fund
I was honored to be named as an Animal Defender by the Animal Legal Defense Fund during
their National Justice for Animals Week, which took place from February 24th to
March 2nd of 2019. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about animal abuse
and urging law enforcement, prosecutors, and lawmakers to protect our animals
and our communities from abusers. I am honored to receive this recognition
which is largely based on my work with legislative colleagues, animal rights
groups and Governor Baker to pass the comprehensive animal protection laws known
as PAWS I and PAWS II.
Founded
in 1979 by attorneys active in shaping the emerging field of animal law, the
Animal Legal Defense Fund is a national, nonprofit organization of attorneys
who specialize in the protection of animals and who work to ensure the
enforcement of existing animal protection laws.
