Incredibly moving stories like these are reminders why our men and women in blue sacrifice so much, and why it’s so important to honor our Blue Star Families who bear the burden of their loved ones’ ultimate sacrifice.
I am proud to announce that the language of my bill S.2449, An Act Establishing the Blue Star Family License Plate, was included in S.2903, which was recently passed by the Senate during last week’s formal session debate on Thursday, January 15th.
This legislation recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of the families of our service members, allowing them to proudly display their support through a special Blue Star Family license plate.
Thanks to the efforts taken on Thursday by the Senate, we can provide a lasting sign of appreciation to the families of more than 400 fallen heroes honoring the contributions of our Massachusetts State Troopers and Officers who are no longer with us.
Supporting our fallen men and women in blue means supporting the families who stood beside them and continuing to honor their memory today.
This bill language, now included in S.2903, is a meaningful way to honor that commitment and gives families a visible symbol of the pride and gratitude our Commonwealth feels feels for their service.
