This past weekend, I was honored to offer a few words at the unveiling of the newly restored sign at the Old First Parish Cemetery in Rockport.
This site holds deep historical significance—not only for the community, but for me personally, as my ancestor Richard Tarr was laid to rest here when the land was still part of his property before it was gifted to the town.
Following the unveiling, volunteers took part in a cemetery clean-up, working to preserve and respect the final resting place of so many who helped shape the early history of Rockport.
Grateful to all who participated in restoring this important landmark and honoring the legacy it represents.
