Open Door Food Pantry’s Empty Bowl

This week, the annual Open Door Food Pantry’s Empty Bowl fundraiser was held at Cruiseport Gloucester, and I was happy to attend and participate in this amazing event. The Empty Bowl helps generate awareness concerning hunger and it raises money for local hunger-relief efforts. Many people came together to support the thousands of people who depend on the food pantry for needed assistance.

Over a thousand bowls were hand crafted and designed by area residents and supporters, and participants are then able to bring a bowl home with them. Each unique bowl serves as a reminder that somewhere, someone’s bowl is empty.
