Massachusetts
must recognize the recurring nature of coastal erosion threats, and plan for
the actions necessary to prepare for and respond to them rather than merely
tolerating eleventh hour, contingency-based actions forced by the immediate
need to protect public health and safety, property and infrastructure.
The Merrimack River Beach Alliance, the Army Corps of Engineers, local, state and federal officials have come together to work on practical approaches to shoreline management and coastal erosion issues.
